Gymcats Update

Izzy has now been going to Gymcats for one year and it is amazing how much she can do. She is so flexible and coordinated. Even though she is the youngest in her class, she is BY FAR one of the best. :) It is so cool to see how much she has grown.

Swinging in the Park

Isaac, Izzy and I headed to the park one Friday afternoon in February. It was amazingly warm so we wanted to take full advantage of it. Who can believe we have had virtually no snow this year? Isaac loved the swings and enjoyed playing with his big sister. We even packed a little picnic in case we needed snack. It was such a fun and spontaneous outing.

MS 150 Race- June 2011

Devan and my dad decided to participate in the MS 150 bike ride this year in Logan, UT. They each road 75 miles to support this great cause. The kids cheered them on with my mom and I- both before and after the race. While they road, we played at the hotel and took Izzy swimming. We have a thing about wearing red to our races so our little family was sporting our family color! It was a great weekend.

Utah Arts Festival- June 2011

It has been an annual tradition to support the Utah Arts Festival each year and this year was no exception. We had a great time taking both Isaac and Izzy around to the booths with Devan’s parents. Izzy and I even played in the fountain and got REALLY wet. It was awesome!

Father's Day- June 2011

Devan and I were talking the other day and realized that this would be his third Father's Day. It's so weird how fast time has flown by. We did a quiet breakfast on the patio to celebrate Devan's Day. Izzy even sang "Happy to Daddy," which is a variation of happy birthday. :) Later we went to see Devan's dad with all of the cousins. We spent the following weekend with my dad at the Porcupine Grill. These quiet, low-key holidays are some of our favorites.

Junior Achievement 5K Run- June 2011

We had an awesome time participating in this charity race in June of this year. Isaac and I were our groups cheerleaders while the rest of our family ran or walked this beautiful course through Murray park. Even though I thought Izzy would stay with me, she insisted on running the kids 1k with her Uncle Dustin. She was so cute as she rant through the finish line. Izzy even got to meet the Real Salt Lake mascot! They even let our group hold the Olympic Torch before the race! My dad, Devan and cousin Tori all took a medal in their respective divisions. It was a really fun day.

Lagoon- May 2011

Although this was technically Izzy's second visit to Lagoon, it was the first one she could actually have a lot of fun! She loved the rides and didn't want to get off when they were over. Izzy also loved that the Ryser Family was there with us and she still talks about going on rides with Katelynn and Parker. Katelynn had a dance competition and we loved watching her perform. Baby Isaac hadn't arrived quite yet so Daddy took her on all of the rides while Mommy had a great time being the photographer. It was a really awesome day!

Afternoon Tea

My dear friend Adriana knows how to make a girl feel special. In honor of Baby Isaac’s anticipated arrival, she treated me to pedicures and Afternoon Tea at the Grand America in May. The food was fantastic and the company was even better. I would highly recommend this for a girls’ afternoon out!

Mother's Day 2011

I know it is a bit cliché, but Mother’s Day really is one of my most favorite days of the year. Devan and Izzy took me to the Grand America for their wonderful Mother’s Day brunch. Izzy was so excited to pick her food from the mini-children’s buffet table. I love getting dressed up and having a fancy morning with my cute little family. Afterwards, we visited Devan’s mom at their house and then celebrated with my mom a week later. The pictures from this day are ones I will always cherish.

Race for the Cure 2011

It’s an annual tradition to participate in Salt Lake City’s Race for the Cure! Even though I was 9 months pregnant, I didn’t want to miss it. Shelley, Devan (and Izzy) walked the 5k distance with me while my dad, brother and his wife Mayra ran it. We had perfect weather and it always feels good participating in such a great cause!
